Season 2022 recap
After a multi-year hiatus, footy was back in 2022. The Eagles had a slow start to the season with two poor losses back to back against the eventual grand-finalists, firstly up at Whister against the Cougars then at Burnaby Lakes against the Saints. Once the weather started to fine up an improvement in training numbers saw better results on the ground, culminating in a decent win against the Hawks and competitive results against the top two teams.
The men travelled down to Seattle for a one-off exhibition game where border restrictions kept the playing group small, who battled away to a close loss against the Grizzlies.
Finishing third in the minor round, the semi final saw the Eagles up against a well-drilled Saints team who had won the two encounters earlier in the season. The Eagles were competitive up to half-time with just a couple of goals separating the two sides, but a superior bench and fitness saw the Eagles unable to keep up with their more fancied opponents who pulled away in the third quarter and a decent win.
