Burnaby Eagles Women

Lovingly referred to as the “Sheagles”, the Burnaby Eagles Women were formally the only Women’s AFL team in the Vancouver area. After years of work promoting women’s footy in BC, we now have TWO cross-town rivals in the Vancouver-Whistler Hawks and the Vancouver Cougars, along with one international rival in the Seattle Grizzlies.

If you want to be a part of the most established Women’s club in BC, come on down. Our season runs from April to August. We train Thursdays evenings at the Burnaby Lake Rugby Club. BCAFL league games (men and women) take place on Saturdays, also at Burnaby Lake, and occasionally in Seattle.

As a member of the Eagles, you’ll have the opportunity to play in BCAFL game in Burnaby, Whistler, and Seattle. Along with extra tournament opportunities in Kelowna and various cities across Canada and the USA.

Our team is made up of players of all skill levels, and we welcome newcomers who are interested in joining our community. We thrive on recruiting “cross-coders”, or athletes from other sports that are looking for new sporting opportunities.

The Burnaby Eagles have a history of introducing new women to AFL and fostering development. Several of the Burnaby Eagles now even represent the National team program, the Northern Lights!

NEW PLAYERS WELCOME

Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, we welcome players of all skill levels and experience. Our team is made up of individuals who are committed to working hard, supporting each other, and having fun while playing the sport we love.
